The Local Carer in Charge of the Children's House

Criteria for the choice of carer:

We will select someone educated, well-read, able to make swift decisions and responsible in case of difficulties. This person must also be a member of the association. Our twin association will interview people and then make an offer to our association, who will choose the carer in charge of the children.

Educative role

The carer will have to guarantee the safety, protection, love and care for each child. The carer must look after the children’s education and be the cultural link between them and Beninese society (Beninese social code of values).

The carer must offer each child, according to his needs, the opportunity to access culture (books, fairy tales, stories, toys…) and help with his own research. In this way, the carer will help the children in the concept and completion of their notebooks.

For a few children the carer will also be a support at the school level.

 Child care

The carer must look after the education, hygiene and cleanliness of the children and keep an eye on their state of health. 

The carer should listen carefully to the children in order to help them with their psychosomatic problems. 

The carer must be able to take the children for professional advice in the case of disease

Link role

The carer will be the educational conduit between the patrons, the children and the members of the association with regard to the project and local infrastructure (school, care centre, doctors…).

The carer will establish a file for each child based on a template drawn up by NonzoBénin, which will be the basis for relationships with the patrons.

The carer will be the main liaison between the French association and the Beninese children’s house. The members of the two associations, local partners and patrons will have full confidence in this role.

This person is essential, hand will have to show great capability in taking care of children.

Members of the associations

The members of the Beninese association and of NonzoBénin will be there to listen to the carer’s questions and difficulties.

More than just being the administrative management, members of NonzoBénin will try to go to Benin as often as possible to ensure that the house has is functioning well.

Members of the Beninese association will be the main interlocutors of NonzoBénin, and they will be the bridge between France and Benin.
